VSS information about SoS checkout folder.

SoS 4.1.0, VSS 6.0d.
After checking out files using SoS, the information in VSS clients is cryptic. Is there no way for the VSS clients to find on what computer and/or to which folders the files were checked out?

Not at the present time. The files are actually being checked out by the SOS Server, which is behaving like a VSS Client. That's why the VSS Client shows the files being checked out to the SOS Server temp directory.
