"...not a valid Vault license number"

Post by philb1010 » Fri Dec 10, 2004 12:28 pm

I installed version 2.0.6 some time ago and I'm now trying to active the Trial so more than 1 user can evaluate it. Today I used the Web site to request a demo license number. Here's the email I received (except that I changed the license number to all X's here):

-----
Thank you for your interest in SourceGear Vault!

Your demo serial number:

XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

If you have not already done so, you can download the
Vault binaries here:

http://www.sourcegear.com/vault/downloads.html

If you need more than 10 users for your evaluation,
let us know, and we will send you a special demo
serial number.

When your 30 day trial period is expired, if you
need more time for your evaluation, let us know, and
we will send you an extension.

If you have any trouble getting Vault installed and
running properly, please visit:

The serial number is one line, 29 digits including the dashes. When I copy and paste this (which begins with RAYLW) into the Add License Number dialog in the Admin Tool and click OK, it says the license number is not a valid license number.

Please advise. Thanks.

The demo serial numbers we now generate only work for Vault 3.0. You are entering a 3.0 serial into a 2.0.6 client, which won't work.
