VSS Import fails + missing history items + wrong user/date

I have Vault 2.0.6 (2219)

I exported my vss db to another machine where I insalled SS 6.0c + hotfix and imported the database. I ran analyze -f on the database. I changed the timeout values in the config files and followed all other recommendations.

The first 2 attempts with SourceSafe Import Tool v2.0.6 hung during the pre-scan at the same point.

I tried again importing only one of the projects in the database which got through the scan but produced errors such as "An item with the same name or objectid already exist in the selected folder". Some of the files were imported successfully though. Looking at these files I noticed that in the history of one of the files a history item (a check-in) was missing. In another file all history items were present but one had the wrong user and wrong date.
