We have had some intermittent problems checking in files from the VS IDE (VS.Net = 2003 & Vault version 2.0.6 and 3.0)
Here is a quote from one of our developers:
"The last round of changes that I checked in last night didn’t make it. I checked in all of the files, and vault reported success and marked all of the files as checked in, but none of the data was transferred. All of my files were “renegade” when I went to work on them today. I’ve reconciled vault with the latest version from my machine."
Any ideas? Have you heard this from others? Any tips on how to avoid this?
Thanks,
Travis
VS.Net IDE checkin problems

We've not had reports of this. Is this only seen from Visual Studio?
If there is nothing being reported in the VS output pane when this happens, I would suggest turning on logging for the Vault IDE client, and if it happens again, check the log for any errors. See http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=2146 for info on how to turn on logging.
Also, it would be good to check the server log during the time the checkin happened to see if there were any server errors, or if the server even received requests at that time.
