Manually group changes

Is there any way for a user to manually select a group of changes to be applied instead of relying on the grouping that the 'jump to next change' option provides?

The Manual Alignment Marker can help with that in some cases. That feature is found under the View menu.

If you want to make larger groupings, the inter-line smoothing in the options can do that.
