Saving a file Error

Post by btd » Thu Aug 27, 2015 7:50 am

I am using VS2012 and after successfully checking out a file, when I go save it, it says access denied to path d:\...

why is this so and how do I fix this?

Also, what does the the different icons mean? Some have blue icon next to them. What does that mean?

Just to clarify - are you using the Classic Client or the Enhanced Client for Visual Studio Integration?

Are you working in CVS mode or VSS mode? What type of file is failing on save?

With regard to the icons, here is a KB article that describes the meaning of the different icons (assuming you are using the enhanced client). Also, you should be able to hover over the icon and see a descriptive tool tip.
