Is there anyway to reset the permissions for a folder to inherit from the folder's parent?
It seems like once the permissions on a folder have been changed, there is no way to restore them to inherit from the folder's parent.

Metro.

To verify, you want to know how to make a folder use a security right from a parent folder.
From within the Admin Tool, look at the repositoriy's security assignments in the Folder Security Tab. You'll need to delete all security rights assigned to a particular folder. Once all assignments have been removed, the folder will inherit from a parent folder security assignment.

Sorry that it has taken me so long to reply.
When you say "need to delete all security rights assigned to a particular folder" do you mean for all users that access the folder?
The admin tool will allow me to uncheck the access permissions for a particular user. However, they just remain unchecked. I assume that this behavior allows one to remove a user's access to a folder.
You are right in your description. I want to revert a user's rights to a folder so that it uses the folder's inherited permissions from it's parent.

Yes. Basically, the way security works for a Vault user is a folder inherits from the parent ( or a parent along the way to root ), if the folder itself has nothing assigned.msauper wrote:When you say "need to delete all security rights assigned to a particular folder" do you mean for all users that access the folder?
