Connection Problems

I have installed the evaluation version of Vault, but I cannot connect to it.

First (possibly very obvious) potential problem - I'm running the evaluation on W2K professional (SP4). Is that an absolute no-no, or can it run on professional? The framework is version 1.1, IIS is version 5.

At the moment, I'm trying to access the service from the local machine. I can get to the serverInstall.html page OK, but the link to the service fails with a Server Unavailable message.

The event view shows a pair of events:
...
.NET Runtime version 1.1.4322.573- aspnet_wp.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services: Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
...

and

aspnet_wp.exe (PID: 2188) stopped unexpectedly.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Sounds like ASP.Net is not correctly configured to handle web requests.

I'd recommend re-installing the entire .Net framework or you could also try re-mapping IIS w/ "aspnet_regiis.exe -i"

Thanks for the speedy response. I haven't managed to get it going yet, but it looks like the problem is on the machine, rather than anything to do with Vault (I copied in a working web service off of a development machine and hit the same problem). I'll try and figure out what is going on and then get back to the evaluation.
