This just reared its ugly head last week. Went away and is now back .
1. Launch VS 2012
2. Go to open project from Vault on the file menu and I get VS has stopped working......etc etc.
3. I can open Vault client ok
4. I went into options / source control and flipped it around and things started to play nice. At least for now.
anything thoughts on this?
Thanks

Re: Vault Crashes in VS 2012
What version of Vault are you using? Are you using Enhanced or Classic integration for Visual Studio?
Please send me a copy of the Visual Studio log file.
If you're using the Enhanced client, the log is called VaultVsipClient2012.txt is in your user's temp directory.
When you Open Project from Vault, are you opening a project for the first time, a project that doesn't already existing in your working folder?
Could you give me more details on this? Do you mean you deselected and reselected the plugin?source control and flipped it around

Re: Vault Crashes in VS 2012
Sorry about delay. Under water this week.
I am using Vault 6.1 standard in Enhanced VS interface
I have been using this config for quite a while w/o issue.
This situation came up again. VS start w/o issue but when I tried to open a solution thru Vault it crashed.
My workaround was to go into VS Tools>Options and toggle Vault off and then on again.
Are you asking for the ActivityLog file??
That is what I attached.
Thanks

Re: Vault Crashes in VS 2012
The error in the activity log is:
VisualStudio

End package load [PHP.Project.PHPProjectPackage, PHP.VS, Version=1.7.4340.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=17116b35d45f8bb8]

80004005 - E_FAIL

<errorinfo>Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Users\gle248\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\11.0\Extensions\wi0opaiz.d24\PHP.VS.dll' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.</errorinfo>
I'm not sure this is specifically related to Vault, since it's a Visual Studio error. What kind of project is this?
Has anything been added to/removed from the project that might cause this error?
Do you have the Vault Visual Studio log?
The log is called VaultVsipClient2012.txt and will be in your user's temp directory, %temp%.
It might also be helpful to see the the Vault Server log from the time of the crash.
The Vault server log is called sgvault.log and is in %windir%\temp\sgvault on the server machine.

Re: Vault Crashes in VS 2012
FYI
I was able to recreate the issue
I closed VS and when I tried to reopen a solution thru Vault it crashed.
I ran a repair on the Vault install and it seems to OK again. ???

Re: Vault Crashes in VS 2012
OK, let us know if it happens again. You might also run a repair install of Visual Studio if it happens again.
