Lost Modify rights after upgrade to 6.1

Post by longprep » Wed Apr 10, 2013 9:31 am

Hi All,

We just upgraded our server from Vault Pro 5 to 6.1. Everything went smoothly except that all of our users have now lost the right to modify existing bug tracking tickets. The Modify button is present but clicking on it yields no results. Adding a new ticket works fine though.

The users we tested with all have Full Admin rights. Even Global Admin can't modify tickets.

The product is installed on a Win 2008 server running SQL Server 2008.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated as we can't operate the product in this state.

Thanks

Pascal

Taking a look at server logs might provide the answer. Two logs to look at are both in %windir%\temp\. Then look for sgvault\sgvault.log and sgvaultpro\vaultpro.log.

Any errors in those logs?

The relevant error appears to be:

2013-04-10 11:09:43.642 Server error 500 Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at MantisServiceLib.DragnetPage.OnPreInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Page.PerformPreInit() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)

Could you perform an iisreset on your server by going to Start - Run and typing iisreset? This will make sure all the application pools are recycled.

If nothing changes after the iisreset, then try the following URLs and let me know which works for you.
http://localhost/vaultpro/dragnetwebservice.asmx
http://<machine IP address>/vaultpro/dragnetwebservice.asmx
http://<machine name>/vaultpro/dragnetwebservice.asmx

Hi Beth,

We tried what you suggested and keep getting the same error. However, we noticed a high number of javascript errors when we try a modification. Images from this attached and from the request to the URLs you sent me are attached

Thanks

Have your users go into their Vault client and access work items from there. Just go to View - Browse Work Items. If users can use that in Vault, then it will narrow the issue down and provide them a way to modify the work items for the moment.

Yes, it works in the thick client.

Could you try another browser for the web client and let me know if the work item tracking works there?
