Broken Vault Upgrade

Post by SealedAir » Wed Mar 27, 2013 2:25 pm

I was upgrading from Vault 4.1.4 to 6.1.0. During the install, during the section that said "This may take a long time. Do NOT stop this process!". I accidentally stopped the process.

Now when I restart it fails when trying to connect to the database for code -1280. How can I get vault running without losing my data?

Here is the screen information:

Looking for IIS Version
Configuring your new Vault Installation
Requesting the IIS Process User...Requesting Vault Admin user password...OK
Connecting to the SQL Server...OK
Verifying the SQL Server requirements...OK
Checking for an existing databases...Found.
Asking for database's fate...Keep existing.
Upgrading the existing source control database...
This may take a long time. Do NOT stop this process!
Checking the installed database version...OK
Creating SourceGear master database schema...CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database 'master'.
Vault Setup is exiting due to a failure or cancellation. Error Code = -1280

Your database may be left in a half-changed state.

Do you have a backup of your Vault 4.1.4 sgvault and sgmaster databases?
