SOS 3.5.3 randomly crashes

I'm having aproblem with my SOS 3.5.3 service randomly crashing. It's running on a Windows 2K3 Server. I get the following application error:

Faulting application sossvr.exe, version 1.0.0.0, faulting module SSAPI.DLL, version 6.0.81.69, fault address 0x00012d78.

Does anyone have an idea of what might be causing this problem and how I might fix it? Thank you in advance.

Does it tend to crash if two or more users are connected at the same time?

Well I don't think I have VSS 6.0c. MS shows version "c" as 06.00.9604. My VSS client shows it as Version 6.0(Build 8163) which I'm gonna assume is 06.00.8163. So, assuming this is not version c we are dealing with, would that solution still apply to me? I don't want to apply a fix if not neccessary.

p.s. I have no idea about two users being on at the same time. Never tested it out.
