How to retain dates when importing files

I've just started using Vault.

I expected to retain dates on files when importing to Vault from a file structure.

I have ended up with the time reset to the time of import.

How do I retain the original file dates in the repository?

Issue solved.

I spent some time in Vault and figured how it operated differently from what I had expected.
