Status = Missing

Status = Missing

All my users are very confused with any new file imported in the Vault Standard database showing with a status of Missing in the Vault Standard Client 5.1.1.

As soon as a check out/Check In occurs, this changes with an empty status.

Can you explain why the Status is set to Missing at first and its overall purpose?

Is there a way to preset the Status to New or Original or something more meaningful on initial files?

Missing just means that either the file isn't located on the user's local hard drive, or Vault just doesn't know yet the files are there.
