We want to always check out files while keeping the last modified date on that file.
I was looking in the Vault Client Standard 5.1.1 under Tools-> Options and I think I am getting this behavior with the Local Files -> Set Time File preset to Modification.
Where is this setting kept? Is it in the registry or some other location?
Is there a way to preset all my users to use this setting by default?
Thanks.

Re: Preset Check Out on Modified Date
If you look in the registry under HKEY_Local_User/Softwear/SourceGear you will find the client settings. There isn't a way through Vault to set that for all users, but you can write a Windows script to run against user's machines to make that change in the registry.

I had found this but making a change from Current to Modification has no impact in this registry branch.
I also checked under HKLM.
Any other ideas?

If you made that change, did you reopen your Vault GUI client to see if the setting gets changed? You will have to close and open the client again. Then perform a checkout and let me know your results.

Re: Preset Check Out on Modified Date
The change I am describing was done in the Client GUI.Beth wrote:If you made that change, did you reopen your Vault GUI client to see if the setting gets changed? You will have to close and open the client again. Then perform a checkout and let me know your results.
There was no associated change in the registry.
Additional information: I want to be able to preset this behavior for all my users.

Looks like the setting is in the database. Could you send an email to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this forum thread? Then I can give you the script to change all users to use modification.
