Another Variation On "Cannot Delete"

Post by WCHurt » Tue Jan 31, 2012 1:01 am

A project folder ROMS in SOURCE/ROMS cannot be deleted. When in the client the "delete" is taken, then the folder appears in the lower window in preparation for the commit. The commit always fails. If the delete is "undone" then the ROMS project returns to the usual place in the client viewer. Also, attempts to import to the ROMS folder also always fail. Apparently part of the database considers the ROMS folder to not exist but the viewer shows it.

The Vault system is standalone; cannot be connected to the Internet.

The Admin tool does not show the ROMS being present.

The Tech Support client data are at the end of this.

If the deletion is "undone" then the ROMS folder re-appears in the project tree as before. When there, no
imports to that folder will work. There needs to be some way to get rid of the ROMS folder.

A partial log file entry for an import to the ROMS directory shows:
Import failed

It looks like the projectc has already been deleted, but the Vault client is still using tree data from the client-side cache.

I'd suggest deleting the client-side cache, as it appears to be out of sync with the database. Close any open clients first.

Let me know if this does not resolve the problem.

Thank-you -- the cache was the problem.
