Re: Bug? APPCRASH
Does it stop crashing when you take out that rule? I tried setting up a similar rule and received no errors.
Can you show me a screenshot of where you created the rule?

Yes, if I remove the rule that everything works fine.

And if I open DiffMerge from Program Files and compare 2 files with this rule - everithing works fine too.

Re: Bug? APPCRASH
A similar crash was observed last week on Ubuntu and I'm in
the process of preparing a 3.3.2 fix release for it and updating all
platforms. I think this might be the same problem.
If you would like to beta test the new binary, that would be great.
Here's a link to the candidate builds:
http://people.sourcegear.com/~jeffh/DiffMerge/
We'll probably release it later this week or early next week
once QA has some time to take a look at it. (To be fair, I did
kinda skip it in on them unannounced.)
Please let me know if you have any problems with this version.

Re: Bug? APPCRASH
Darn. And odd that it only happens with the diff-to-file option.
Could you post a zip file with the contents of the Support Dialog
(available from the About Dialog). This will tell me all the various
settings in your ruleset and let me try to exactly replicate your
environment? (You can omit the various seed pathnames, I don't
need them.)
Also, does it occur on all files or just a particular pair of files?
It would be great if you could send a pair of files (with anything
proprietary/sensitive removed) that demonstrate the problem and
let me test with them here.
thanks
jeff

Re: Bug? APPCRASH
I was able to reproduce the crash with some test data here.
I've put a new version of the candidate build on my personal
download page. This one is labelled 1138.
You'll need to uninstall the existing 3.3.2.1136 before you can
install the new 3.3.2.1138 (because Windows Installer only respects
the first 3 components of the version number).

Please give it a try and let me know how it goes.
thanks,
jeff
