Issue with setting Working folder to an UNC location

Post by dkleyman » Wed Sep 28, 2011 9:18 am

Hello

I downloaded an evaluation version of SourceOffSite.
I am having one issue so far
When I try to set a working folder for one of the project is the VSS DB to a UNC location I get strange results.

Let say I set it to \\server.domain.com\directory
when I try to save it
First back slash disappears (\server.domain.com\directory) and SourceOffSite says that directory doesnot exist and askes me if I want to create it

Pleease advise

If your working folder is on a different machine, you'll need to map a network drive, then set the network drive as the working folder.

Is there anyway it can be done without mapping the remote drive?

I wasn't able to do it without a mapped drive, but I'll investigate further.

It looks like SOS Client is not designed to use strictly a UNC location for the working folder.

Is there a reason you need to have the working folder on another machine?
