Server install hangs up

Post by rogermon » Sun Sep 18, 2011 3:31 pm

Hi,

I want to install vault server on a brand new machine. It only gets to the "choose IIS process user" dialog box, and hangs up hard, requiring a restart.

I'm using Win 7 Ultimate SP1 with IIS V7.5

Net Framework 3.51 is installed

I was installing the 64 bit version of Vault server.

I've never used IIS before, so I'm a neophyte there. I did verify that 32 bit ASP is activated.

I'll appreciate all help.

Thanks,

Roger

I'll need to see some logging to see what's happening. Try installing again, but use the following steps:
  • 1) On your C: drive, create a file and call it MSIlog.txt.
    2) Run a command prompt as administrator.
    3) Run the following command replacing the path to the installer with the real path where the installer is and the name of the installer you are using:

    Code: Select all

    msiexec /i "C:\path to installer\VaultServer64_5_1_1_19215.msi" /l "C:\MSIlog.txt.
    [/size]
    4) If an error happens, send the MSIlog.txt.
Could you send that log in an email to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this forum thread?
