SOS 4.X in a 64 bit Machine

Post by janagaraj » Wed Aug 10, 2011 7:08 pm

We are experiencing the below issues in using the SOS client version on the 64 bit windows 7 machine compatible with our SOS Server version 4.X
1. When we open the .Net solution file from Visual Studio 2010 running on a Windows 7 64 bit machine, all the required files that the solution references are not downloaded to the local machine.
2. Instead if we download the code from SOS to local machine and open the VS solution, we dont see the files linked to SOS.
3. Additionally, any modified or newly added files are showing up as missing (Please refer to the attached image).
4. And Auto checkout while editing or saving is not happening even though the support team suggested option is already checked.

Can you please help us in resolving the issue?

SOS 4.x is not supported on Windows 7 nor VS 2010, but SOS 5.0 is: http://www.sourcegear.com/sos/. I can give a few suggestions for SOS 4.2, but I can't guarantee they will work.

What you might try is set SOS as your default source control provider. That is in the Client's Tools - Options. Then in VS, go to Tools - Options - Source Control and set SOS as the source control to use. Next got to File - Source Control - Open from Source Control to open the solution from SOS.
