Vault vs. Visual C# .NET Standard

Post by JohnWSaunders3 » Wed Aug 11, 2004 2:58 pm

I know this is a stupid question, but can Vault integrate into the Visual C# .NET Standard IDE?

I think there was some discussion awhile back as to whether VS.Net Standard Edition supports integration with source control. If it does, then Vault is a supported source control backend for it.

Ok, but is it meant to work or not? In other words, does it not show up because I did something wrong, or does it not show up because I need the Professional version?

Yes, Vault is meant to work on Visual Studio IDEs that support integration. I'm not sure whether Standard support integration or not.

Go to the Vault GUI client, Tools->Options, and make sure the "Make vault the default scc provider" checkbox is checked. If it is, and you've re-invoked VS, it should show up if it is supported.

I just checked -- apparently the "Standard" editions of the Visual Studio language products do not support source control integration:
