Running Vault from a shared public webhost
Would like to know if its possible to install vault a shared public webhost. like webhost4life. Do to the limit rights on the server this would most certainly have to be a manually process.
It is possible, but I would proceed with caution.
Some providers will not let you run the server installation. While it is possible to install Vault Server with an X-Copy type installation, there are too many things that can go wrong with setting up the virtual directory, assigning security permissions, creating registry entries. At this time, running the Server installation is most likely the safest way to get the Vault server up and running.
Also, I should bring up the Service provider will have complete control over the MS .Net framework settings, ASP.Net recycling / timeouts, so-forth and so-on.
I believe people have reported positive experiences with Orcs Web - http://www.orcsweb.com/sourcegear/sourc ... sting.aspx
