I'm looking for some direction in upgrading from 5.0.3 to 5.1.1 but I have several questions.
First, can the server software be 64-bit while the client and database still be in 32-bit?
If we can run 64-bit server with 32-bit client I would like to upgrade our server to Windows 2008 R2 64-bit. We are currently on Windows 2003 Server 32-bit running Vault Standard 5.0.3. Our database is currently on a seperate Windows 2003 Server 32-bit. I would like to upgrade Vault to 5.1.1 64-bit on a new Windows 2008 R2 64-bit server but leave the database where it is currently at.
Can I go ahead and stop the web services on the old Windows server and do the install on the new Windows 64-bit server?
Thanks for any input.

Yes. The 32-bit versus 64-bit only depends on whether IIS is set to run in 32-bit mode or 64-bit mode. By default, on a 64-bit machine it will be on 64-bit mode.First, can the server software be 64-bit while the client and database still be in 32-bit?
That will be ok.I would like to upgrade Vault to 5.1.1 64-bit on a new Windows 2008 R2 64-bit server but leave the database where it is currently at.
Yes, though you might find it easier to uninstall the original first, but choose the option to keep the database, and then install in the new location. The old location isn't going to be functional after the new one is installed anyway. The only reason I mention this is just so that there's no confusion later. Can I go ahead and stop the web services on the old Windows server and do the install on the new Windows 64-bit server?
