Shadowed folders not updated

Hi,

How often are shadowed folders updated? Is there a way to manually synchronize them with the repository? I'm asking because I checked in a change to a file in the repository which belongs to a shadowed folder, and after checking to see if this change was reflected in the shadowed folder after 45 minutes or so, the file was not updated. I also had the shadowed mapping set to optimize speed. Also, I should mention that the shadowed folder had existed (from VSS) before I created the mapping for it on the vault admin web client. Any thoughts on this?

So when I created new shadowed folders they seemed to update correctly. I guess there is a problem mapping shadowed folders that have preexisting files?

It's better to create shadow folders to blank folders and allowing the shadow folders to populate them.

Is there any way to update the shadow folders manually? I noticed that a subfolder was missing in the shadowed folder well after mapping it. After deleting the shadow folder and starting again, it seemed to populate all of the folders correctly. It would be nice to be able to update the shadowed folders on demand, otherwise we're never really certain when these shadowed folders are up to date.

When a user checks in the shadow folder is updated. If you would like all items in the shadow folder to be checked, then you need to set Speed Optimized to False. That will cause it to check the entire folder. When it's set for Speed Optimized = True, then it only updates the checked in file.
