I am considering SourceGear Vault primarily because my version of VSS doesn't work on Windows7 (in addition to the fact that VSS is a pain in the behind at times).
The single-user version is free. My PC is set up to dual boot (Windows 7 and XP). I need to do this because some of the apps I support are not compatible with Windows 7. If I install Vault in both environments, can I access the same database as a single user?
Thanks!
Question about single user version

Re: Question about single user version
The license doesn't care about how many clients are installed. It depends on the users, and so since there is only you, it should be fine.
The server though would have to be installed on a different machine for both of the operating systems of your dual boot machine to reach it. If you installed the Vault server on the Windows 7 OS that is on a dual-booted machine and put a client on the Windows XP, the client on the Windows XP OS can't reach the server on the Windows 7 OS.
