Checked in files are reneagade

Post by jviolent » Wed Jul 07, 2010 6:34 am

Hi,

I'm using SOS client 5.0.3 Pro on Windows 7 x64 host.

Just after I checked in a file, its status is empty but when I refresh the display with F5, it becomes 'Renegade'.
Local, remote date and version are the same, local file is R, its date and time are right, there is no content difference.
To remove this 'Renegade' status, I must do a 'get latest' but, I can't see any change of date nor content nor attribute in the local file.

My colleagues have the same problem.

Thanks,

Jacques

Where is your working folder?

Are users sharing a working folder?

The working folder is on local host disk and is not shared : D:\Vss\jviolent

Are you using the SOS GUI Client or Visual Studio or some other editor to modify the files? Are you checking in the files with Visual Studio, SOS GUI Client or the Command Line Client?

Files are checked out either in SOS GUI client either in Visual Studio.
Files are modified in associated type editor.
Check in are always done in SOS GUI client.
We never use the command line client.

Does this affect all files or only certain files when using a certain editor?

All files are affected, whatever the editor or the file type.

I'd suggest we schedule a remote assist session where I can take a closer look. I'm available Monday or Tuesday and I'm in the Central Daylight Time zone. Email support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda, and we'll set something up. Please include a link to this forum post.

Hi Linda,

I investigated and found that the problem is reproductible only if you set the option "Files" / "Set Date/Time on Local Files" to "Check In".
With the 2 others values of this setting, there is no problem.
I hope this will help you to reproduce my problem and find a solution

We were able to reproduce this. I've logged bug 15527 and we hope fix this in an upcoming maintenance release.

In the meantime, the work-arounds are to do a get latest with Overwrite, as you have been doing, or change the file time.

Thanks for the report.
