We today upgraded Vault from v4.1.4.18402 to v5.0.3.18802
Now, when we log in as an administrator into the webAdmin, when clickin on a Repository->Repository Access we get the following error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
We see this for a number of other admin screens.
What can we do to fix this?
cheers

Are you logging in as the admin user or just a user with admin level privileges? Try logging in as the actual admin user and see if you get the same error message.
Did the database or the main Vault installation switch servers at all?

Hi Beth
The Admin user sees the same error messages.
We see this on more than just the permissions page.
The Server did not change at all,
What now?
cheers

Re: Admin of vault : Object reference not set to an instance ...
..interestingly we just tried to enable debug logging. And now all the broken UIs in the tree are now working !!!!
Is there is some server side cache which needed to be flushed?
By changing the log level a restart of the server was forced. But I restarted IIS several times when I reinstalled.
please advise.?

Re: Admin of vault : Object reference not set to an instance ...
How one restarts IIS can make a difference. When you save the changes to logging, the Vault App Pool is recycled. That does flush a server-side cache. Also, if you were to go to a command line and type the command iisreset, then server-side caches are cleared. Some users just stop and start IIS, and I don't think that clears anything.
If this happens again, then let me know. I wouldn't expect this to be something you ever see again, but if it were happening with any sort of regularity, then we should find out why.
