File System Web Site projects and file deletes

Post by VaultUser6022 » Thu Mar 18, 2010 3:28 pm

We have a file system based web project in our Visual Studio 2008 solution. Another user has recently deleted a file from the Web Site file system project and when I opened the solution on my workstation and updated with get latest version the file is still in my working folder and in the solution / project. The file is identified as a new file with the plus in my working copy yet this file was recently deleted by another user. This file should have been removed from my local copy when I performed an update.

Does the SourceGear Vault Visual Studio Enhanced Client work better with files and the management of deletes better than the classic client? I have worked with Subversion with the ankhSVN and tortoisesvn clients and never had any problems with deletes the way I am with the Vault client. Which is why I am wondering if it is because the client is still set to classic and I am not using the Enhanced Client.

Before I respond, I could use more information.

What version of Vault are you using? What version of Visual Studio?

When you say another user deleted the file, was the file deleted from the Vault repository, or just from the file system?
