Open from Vault... some files missing

After I open a solution cleanly from vault using the Vault-integrated-option "Open from Vault", I sometimes have missing files. There seem to be two kinds.

First, there's files that are part of the solution but are ignored. For example, working with WCF projects, the Service References generate lots of *.xsd XML schema definitions. These don't get retrieved using "Open from Vault", so I have to follow-up with getting everything via the Vault Client.

Then there are files that aren't listed as Solution Items in the solution. For example, we have some third-party libraries checked in so that the project structure is wholly self-contained, but these libs are external references as far as the solution's projects are concerned.

I'm not expecting this to be fixed in Vault because I don't necessarily consider it a bug. However, I am curious if anyone else has experienced these issues and has any clever workarounds.

I've logged Work Item 15262 to test Vault with WCF projects.

Regarding third party libraries, any files used in the solution should be under the solution root in source control.

What version of Vault are you using? We've made some changes in the lateset version that might help, unless you're already on Vault 5.0.3.

We recently upgraded to 5... 5.0.2 (18753) to be exact.

Upgrade to Vault 5.0.3 and see if that helps with the problem. It's a free upgrade.
