Audit - View Details Truncation

Using Fortress Version 2.0.1.18729, when viewing an item in the Web interface that has a lengthy Details field; after an edit to the Details, click on the Audit button, and then click the View Details link to see the side-by-side comparison, it appears that the output is truncated after about 500 characters. If the change occurred after that point, then the display makes it look like there was no change, because the first 500 characters match.

Is this a bug or is there some feature or configuration setting that I am overlooking?
