Copy and Paste to compare instead of using files?

Post by Raaagh » Tue Dec 01, 2009 7:16 pm

Been using Diffmerge for a year or two.

Just wondering, is there a way to just paste into the 2 compared panes, rather than having to create a text file?

Apologies if its freaking obvious and Ive missed it

In order for the Diff/Merge to start a compare, it needs a file. What you could try to get around it is to have 2 blank .txt files tucked off somewhere that you perform the Diff on. You can edit a file in Diff, so you could paste anything into those files in the middle of the diff. If you use this often, then what you will notice is that the last items you diff'd are still listed so you don't have to browse to them each time.
