Compatibility Issue with VS 2010 Extensions and System.Addin

Post by robe070 » Tue Dec 01, 2009 7:09 pm

We recently received this email from Microsoft. We wondered if it may be of relevance for the Vault interface in Visual Studio?

Subject: Compatibility Issue with VS 2010 Extensions and System.Addin
Importance: High

Hello. Our team found a compatibility issue with a recent change in VS 2010 to use MultiDomain LoadOptimization to improve the overall performance of Visual Studio for end users. This has an impact on VS extensions that take a dependency on System.Addin and run in a separate AppDomain from VS. If your VS Extension depends on System.Addin please Reply-All with a description of the scenarios where you are using System.Addin so we can weigh the impact of this change on VS extenders.

Thank you

I checked with the developers and there doesn't appear to be any conflict for us here. Thanks for reporting this though.
