Code Removal Question

Post by Noble D. Bell » Fri Oct 16, 2009 2:41 pm

We have some coders that are working on a project off-site. They login with their vault client to our vault server and download the code to their machine and work on it like normal. My question, is there a way for us to remove their local copy of the code in the event the coder leaves the company for any reason?

Thanks in advance.
Thanks & God bless,
Noble

There currently isn't a way to force Vault to delete the code from a user's machine. You can prevent the user from accessing your Vault server by making their account inactive, but if they walk away with code on their machine, Vault doesn't have a mechanism to deal with that.

Even if we made such a mechanism, I think there would still be ways around it, such as just uninstalling Vault.
