Missing Files in Client

Missing Files in Client
Hello,
I need to get an entire project down from the Vault client, but some files are missing. By "missing", I mean that my co-workers can see these files but I can't. It's only a couple of files also. What could be the problem?

Re: Missing Files in Client
For one of your co-workers that can see the files, does the user have a pending add of those files sitting in their Pending Changes area? When things are pending but not committed, then others can't see the files, but the person adding them will see them in their tree.
Have you tried a refresh?
Are you looking inside Visual Studio for the files or in the Vault GUI client?

Re: Missing Files in Client
The missing files have been part of the project for a long time and my co-worker does not have anything pending on them.
Yes, I have tried a refresh.
I'm looking in the Vault client to bring down files that are missing the IDE project. We're all a little baffled by this.

Re: Missing Files in Client
Could I have you send screenshots that show what your co-worker sees versus what you see? if you don't wish to post them here you can send an email to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this forum thread and the screenshots.

Re: Missing Files in Client
They're a little tied up. I can assure you that all they're seeing are a group of files that I can't see on my machine. Screen shots would show you nothing more than that.
Re: Missing Files in Client
Could I have you rename a few files in your Client Side Cache? You will want to use the KB article Clear Client Side Cache as a reference to help you. In that KB article is a query to help you determine the GUID that corresponds to the repository you are having problems with. You want to focus on just that one repository.
Close Vault, then drill down into the cache. The only two files I want you to rename are CacheMember_LastStructureGetTime and CacheMember_Repository.

Re: Missing Files in Client
Any tips on how to find my sgVault database?
Re: Missing Files in Client
You could just add a _old to the end of the names and that would be enough.
On finding your sgvault database, if you don't know the machine it's on, look to the web.config for the Vault website. By default that is located in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\vaultservice.
If you know the machine, but not the path, then open your SQL Server Management Studio, expand Database, right-click sgvault and select propertied, click the files link and the far right side column will have the path to the file.

Re: Missing Files in Client
I don't see the VaultService path anywhere. I also don't see the database in Management Studio.
Re: Missing Files in Client
FYI, a Vault window keeps popping up that says "object reference not set to an instance of an object".
Re: Missing Files in Client
Can you find the website that Vault was installed to by using the IIS Manager on the Vault server? If so, the properties of the website will hold the path to the disk location of the Vault website. Then go to the web.config to check the SQL Server used.

Re: Missing Files in Client
I went to this directory and deleted everything in it:
C:\Documents and Settings\cemich\Local Settings\Application Data\Sourcegear\Vault_1\Client\5EFE997B-B163-451B-9F6D-4172E3EFFEBC\cemich\_sgvault
I also uninstalled and reinstalled Vault. No luck.
