Suggestion:Restore connections to the lost server/respostory

Post by Thomas Linder Puls » Mon Sep 28, 2009 1:41 am

When the client looses the connection to the server, it restores it using the "Auto-profoile". But it would make a lot more sense if it restored the connection that was actually lost (i.e. maybe not to the default server/respository).

Are you using the integration with Visual Studio and that's where this is happening, or is this just happening with the Vault Gui client alone? I will be trying to reproduce this behavior.

Which version of Vault are you on?

It is the Vault GUI client I am talking about.

We are a little behind with the versions: This Vault client is version 4.1.4.18402

You can simulate the problem like this:
  • log on in the cilent (you should have a default profile)
  • Change to another repository.
  • reset the IIS with an iisreset.
  • make a get latest in the GUI client
I then experience that the client log-on using my default profile (i.e. not to the respository I was trying to get latest from).

(Actually, I don't know about the server, because I only use one server).

I see now. It's the repository choice that is the problem. I've reproduced it and can log this. Thanks for pointing this out.

It's technically doing what the setting on the repository is telling it to do, but I can certainly see where this is inconvenient when you lose your connection. This could get confusing if your repositories looked similar as well.
