Someone in the office was playing around with Visual Studio source bindings and what not, and they checked out the solution files for a Visual Studio project.
We only noticed it now (8 months later) because had needed to do anything with the solution files.
I can't seem to un check out the files or checkin my own version of the files as Vault reports;
[09/09/2009 18:42:21] Checking out file $/Folder/Filename.sln
[09/09/2009 18:42:22] Check out failed for $/Folder/Filename.sln: The file has been exclusively locked.
[09/09/2009 18:42:22] Check out failed for $/Folder/Filename.sln: The file has been exclusively locked.
[09/09/2009 18:42:22] Checked out file $/Folder/Filename.sln
The person who checked out the files is no longer in the company and that computer doesn't exist anymore.
Un-checkout files checked out by someone else

If you are on one of the recent versions of Vault, then you can force an undo checkout from the Vault admin web page. In the admin web page, click on the repository that has the checkouts, then click on Undo Checkout. You will see a list of all the check outs and can select which ones to force the undo check out on.

Re: Un-checkout files checked out by someone else
Wow turns out there were 743 files across various projects that had been checked out and forgotten about... let's see if this did the trick!
Re: Un-checkout files checked out by someone else
Thanks for your help Beth; it's working like a charm!
