Vault VS Enhanced Client Suggests Adding Excluded Files

Post by jkonline » Fri Aug 28, 2009 7:05 am

In the main vault client when I add a project it will not add .suo files however then in the Vault VS Enhanced Client Suggests Adding these files showing them as modified after every build.

Is there a setting to change this so excluded files do not appear in the list?

What version of Vault are you using? What version of Visual Studio?

Visual Studio generally does not add .suo files to Source Control, as these are user options files.
What list are they appearing in?

Are there .suo files already in Vault?

VS2005 with Vault 5.0. They are shown in the pending vault changes window.

We'd like to reproduce this. Does this happen with a new project?

What kind of Visual Studio project are you working on?

Does it happen when you first Add the project to Vault, or later?

Any steps to reproduce would be appreciated.

The standard winforms application project was added to Vault via the Vault desktop client. We then opened in VS and bound the project. It happened sometime after that when we made a change to the properties of the project file.

It does not always happen I will keep and eye out and try to find out exactly what I changed for it to happen.

Thanks

Thanks, if this is a bug, we'd like to get it down.

You may get a little inconsistent behavior when you use the Vault client and the integration client on the same project.
