File editing allowed when file checked out by other user

Post by alapiola » Wed Aug 19, 2009 11:38 am

I installed the Vault 4.1.4(18402) plugin for Eclipse in FlexBuilder 3.

I noticed that I was able to edit a file when it was checked out by someone else. I only got a console message saying that the check out has failed. Is there a setting somewhere to disallow editing of checked out files or is this not supported?

Thanks

It wont' prevent edits in this case, but you shouldn't be able to check in those edits if someone else has it checked out.

I can take a feature request to change this behavior. I'm not sure how feasible it is, but by taking a request, it gets the idea in front of the developers.

It would be great to have this feature, since we are currently NOT using Vault inside Flex because this feature is missing. The reason is we dont want people to go renegade on files without their knowledge and merging could be painful afterwards.

Is there a way for me to see the status on the feature request?

Thanks

We don't have the option available to track the feature requests. I have included the number of the request in this post though, so if you ever ask you can mention that number. I can also add a note to the feature to post here when or if it is completed.
