Renaming the Initial Repository

Post by jkonline » Wed Jul 29, 2009 3:24 am

I have renamed the Initial Repository by setting the "Repository Name" and stopped and started the IIS site however even on a new machine that has had vault installed after the change sill shows the wrong name in the client apps title. Everywhere else it is ok including when you have connected and it list the repository names.

Am I missing something?

This is a known issue, logged as bug 9785 in our Fortress workitem database.

If you connect to a repository in the Vault GUI client and then later rename the repository, the Vault GUI client still shows the "old" name in the title bar because the cached information does not get updated.

To fix this, shut down all Vault clients and the users machine and remove two of the client side cache files - CacheMember_Repository and CacheMember_LastStructureGetTime found in the Documents and Settings-><Userprofile>\Local Settings\SourceGear\Vault_1\Client\{GUID}\{user}\ folder. This will reset the client side cache tree's name. Then restart IIS to reset the Vault Server cache. The next time the client logs in it should have the correct repository name.
