Valut Client (4.0.6) on Windows7 (Build 7100)

I installed windows7(Build 7100) on my machine and then installed SQL 2005 Standard Edition and sql 2005 is working ok. But when i installed Vault Client on my machine, it created problem when i connect with SQL management studio. Please see the error below:

If i do system restore, then sql management studio is working ok without vault client. Please let me know what is the reason for this issue.

We've seen this error before, though it was usually after uninstalling Vault Client.

You probably need to re-register a dll. Run this at the command line:

Regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

We haven't tested Vault 4.0.6 on Windows 7, so there may be other issues. We'd recommend at least updating to the latest version of Vault, 4.1.4. Windows 7 will be fully supported in Vault 5.0, currently out in Beta2.

just wondering if anyone else has this issue, and if there is any resolution besides "upgrade"

the re-register of actxprxy.dll, recommended in many places, doesn't fix this (when the cause is the Vault client)

You could try a repair install of SQL Server Management Studio.
