I downloaded and tried to get the free single user license going on my XP professional workstation. Client install went fine. Server install fails because I'm not running v5+ of "Internet Information Services" aka IIS. It seems IIS v5+ is only available on Vista.
Does this mean Vault is essentially unsupported without a Vista server in order to run the Vault server? The vault client runs on XP but it is worthless without a server to talk to, right? Do I have any options as a single developer running on just one XP workstation?
thx Bill
is free single user license available on XP?

Re: is free single user license available on XP?
That is incorrect. IIS5 is what XP uses, but it is not automatically installed. Go to your Add/Remove Programs - Windows Components, select Internet Information Services, and click the details button. You will want to add the World Wide Web Service and the IIS snap-in.It seems IIS v5+ is only available on Vista
Once IIS is finished loading, the .NET framework needs to be registered with it. At a command prompt, run
Code: Select all
C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis -i
