Files with no extension report as "Not Mergeable"

Post by guilmori » Fri May 29, 2009 7:57 am

Hi,

Vault Client 4.1.4

We have thousand of source files with no extension.
When I do a merge branches operation, all those file reports as "Not Mergeable".
How can I make them mergeable ?

Thanks,
Guillaume.

A file is considered Mergeable in Vault if the file extension is listed in the Mergeable file types. This setting is in the Admin Web Client under Source Control Repositories->(Repository name)-> File Types.

Since your files have no extensions, Vault considers them not mergeable. It's not possible to put a "null" extension name in that list.

A couple of options, both of which are tedious, would be to add some sort of extension to your files, or right-click on each file in the file list, select Properties, and manually set the file type under the General tab.
