Client, Access Denied to Server

Post by eclipse » Tue Mar 31, 2009 9:09 am

Hello, I have installed the client program in linux ubuntu.
At startup of the client, there is a form, with a request for
SERVER
PORT

I insert correct information for server and port, but I obtain an ACCESS DENIED. If I can't insert my credentials (registered on server with username/passwd) obviously it does not work and obtain ACCESS DENIED?
It's true? When the client wants the credentials?
Thanks

When an access deny occurs before even entering your username and password, then it's a case of where the SOS server does not have proper credentials to access the VSS database, or else the folder that the VSS database is in is too restrictive.

Go to the SOS service in Administrative Tools - Services on the SOS server. Look at the account listed under the Login tab. If the VSS database is on the same machine, then selecting the first option of a local account is usually enough. If the VSS database is on another machine, then you need to enter a username that would have read/write access to the VSS database across a network. You might want to set up share permissions on the VSS database and only allow the user that SOS runs under to have share permissions.
