Can't access Vault from cname address

I've installed vault on a server that is using our standard naming convention. We want the users to access the server using a cname but the installation does some detection that causes vault to try routing off to the machines fqdn which isn't available from the corp network.

Is there a way I can change where the service and web pages direct you when you connect to it?
