Update File Status

Post by poschdi » Wed Nov 12, 2008 9:10 am

Hi,

I have a problem with the file status. We use for every version a new release computer. For this I copied the old file system to the new computer. I can´t get the current repository version because some files which already checked in, should not be release in the next version.
The problem now is that all the file status are unknown. If I diff a file with the repository version I got the correct file status. If I diff a complete folder he show me which if the file is different but it doesn´t update the status. Is there any function to update all file status?

greets Florian

You could try enabling CRCs in the GUI Client under Tools-> options -> local files . If that doesn't work, there may be a workaround.

In the Vault GUI client under Tools -> Options -> Local Files -> Cache Location, choose to store working folder state/baseline files in your working folders. This option is stored in the database and is specific to each user.

This will create the _sgvault folder in the working folder. The _sgvault folder has file state information.

The next time you copy your files to a new machine, copy the entire contents of the working folder, to include the _sgvault folder. It should then recognize the correct state of the files.

Let me know if this does not resolve the problem.

Hi,

Setting the CRC option didn't work for me, but I did find another trick that worked: I clicked File | Set Working Folder and chose the same folder it was currently set to. Once I clicked OK, it resolved all of the unknown status files! :D

Peace,
