I'm trying to get a file from history results. I select the version about 10 versions ago, and Get it. The progress bar relatively quickly reaches 100%, after which there's no further progress for couple of minutes. Looking in %temp%, I see how vaultclient is writing .tmp file, the size is growing to hundreds of megs, while the size of the file being fetched is 8MB. Eventually, it succeeds. Is all this expected behavior? I thought it at least might give more accurate progress bar.
Client's version 4.1.2.

Re: Excessive Delay while GETting file from History
Could you look in your Vault Server Log to see if any errors were logged while you were performing that Get? Could you either post the errors or send me your server log? If you email it, send it to support at sourcegear.com with a link to this forum thread.

emailed log file. According to the word "delta" in the log messages, it does look like by design, i.e. I think it had to retrieve some chain of versions to get to the right one.

According to what I see in the log, the progress bar is correct for the download portion. The rest is the file being built.

so what I'm saying is, if building the file takes so much time (as I understand, depending on the number of incremental versions since), it would make sense to somehow let the user know that this is normal. I killed the process several times before I realized what's going on, because that's what you think when it hangs with no movement for several minutes.

I received your suggestion offline for more detailed information about what is happening as it is occurring. I will submit a feature request. That should help with this.
