We have migrated to a new windows server 2003. We are running VSS 6.0 and SOS 4. The real time sceanrio is, after we leave for the day and come back the next day it requires a restart of SOS Server for the client to work. Could you let us know what settings should I look out for.

Could you either post or send me your SOS server log? The SOS log file (log.txt) is located on the machine where the SOS server resides in this path C:\Program Files\SourceOffSite Server. If you email it, send it to support at sourcegear.com with a link to this thread.
Could you tell me the exact Automation Component Version you have? There were many created for VSS 6.0.
What exact version of SOS are you on? (4.2, 4.1.2, 4.0, other???)
If this happens again, try just restarting the SOS service instead of the entire server.

Would you be willing to consider an upgrade to SOS 4.2 (unless that's the version you meant). If you are on 4.0.2, that's pretty old and you are missing out on some fixes that could potentially take care of this.
