I'm using Vault within VS and I'm having an issue where I'm seeing files that I checked out on my machine (I use only one machine for development) are saying that they are "Checked out exclusively by someone else or in another location". After doing some investigation, it looks like Vault thinks the files are checked out an another machine because for some reason my "domain" is different.
Please see the attached screenshot.
The first dialog box shows the "Vault properties" for the file that cannot be accessed properly since VS says it's "Checked out exclusively by someone else or in another location". The second is from a file I just checked out this morning, so I could see the difference. Note that there is a difference in the machine name. The name of my machine name is "opstestlaptop" and the company I work for is called Hobsons, so I'm assuming that in machine name
opstestlaptop/hobsons.local
that it combines my actual machine name and the "domain" I'm logged onto. (I'm fairly ignorant about domains and the like, so this is just conjencture on my part.)
So it appears that my "domain" now is different from my "domain" when I checked out the file (i.e. hobsons.local -> hobsons)...so what do I do?
Would this require something to be done by an admin on the backend, or is there something I can do using just the Vault Client or VS?

Your admin can log into the Vault admin web page, click on the problem repository, then click Undo Check Out. The screen that comes up will list all the items checked out in that repository. The admin then selects what you need and forces an undo check out.

Thanks for your reply. However, could you please clarify as to how the actions you specify will help me? What I "want" is to be able to change something where I can immediately check these files in. There are several dozen files, FYI.

This will take a little more digging then. Could you send an email to support at sourcegear.com with a link to this thread? Please include the version of Vault that you have and the version of SQL server.
