Session timeouts

Post by nikola » Thu Jul 17, 2008 6:48 am

We are running VaultService (4.1.1.18060) on Windows 2000 server. Few days ago clients started receiving frequent session timeouts. Clients are either on Windows XP professional or Windows Vista Business. IIS is 5. There are numerous sites this IIS is hosting along with Vault.
Vault service is restarting very frequent. I have attached today log.
Nothing unusual in Event Manager.
Can you please help me with this
Thanks

The restarts could be due to your IIS settings.

Go into your IIS manager and check that your Vault service is set to use the Vault App Pool. Then go into your Vault app pool properties and check the settings there. Under Recycling, uncheck any options that might cause recycling. Also on the Performance tab, check if you have a web garden limit set. It should be set at the default, 1.

I'm using IIS 5 which is using only one Application pool so I can't check this options. Any other ideas?

Sorry, I was thinking Windows 2003. Is there anything in your IIS logs that shows IIS is restarting frequently as well?

Has any configuration change on the server machine recently?

Everything works fine. IIS is not restarting as I can see. No configuration has changed for at least 3 years. We are modifying web pages daily, but nothing else. Everything else hosted by that IIS is working OK. I don't have a clue what is causing this.

Check the application event log again for any out of memory errors. Better yet, send me a copy of the event logs.

Send them zipped up to support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda.
