Suggestion/Request: vertical bars in intra-line mode

Hi guys!

In some cases, when you add/delete something in a line, the changes are only visible in one of the 2 panes.
E.g. when you change

Code: Select all

long a[100 ]

to

Code: Select all

long a[100]

you won't see anything in the pane that shows the new version. (Except of course that the background-color of the whole line communicates that something must have been changed, but you don't see what or where)

Now it would be nice if DiffMerge would display a vertical bar (like a caret or pipe-character) in the place where something has been deleted (of course without inserting an actual character - just changing the background color in the first pixel column of the next character - or something like that).
